I don't understand why I can remember silly commercials from ages ago but can't remember why I walked into the other room. The "Got Milk" campaign came into my mind the other day and I thought I would give it a twist. GOT PICTURES, we do! We all do! We have printed photos and digital photos, we have family home movies, old memory cards, and CDs and DVDs. We have old cameras and phones which probably have photos on them. We also have apps on our computers and on our phones that help us edit and store photos. And just like the silly commercials that are stuck in our heads, our photos have memories attached to them. What if you lost all of those pictures?
You have photos: here are 3 good reasons to start organizing your photos.
1-Ease the Anxiety
Having photos in many different apps, and media types, and being unorganized, it can be overwhelming and exhausting to think about the scope of the project. By organizing your photos into a system, you can start to overcome the magnitude of the issue. Making the decision alone to change it will bring some peace.
2-Enjoy the Memories
Once your photos are organized you can really enjoy them. You can use them to create beautiful and meaningful gifts for loved ones, photo books of holidays, trips, or individuals. You can
3- Peace of Mind
Heaven forbid you ever experience a fire, flood, or other horrible events, which would damage or destroy your photos. Having your photos organized, scanned, and backed up (with a copy of the backup in another place), you can have the peace of mind that your memories are safe and ready to be enjoyed for many years.
Good News! If you don't think you have the fortitude or desire to organize your photos on your own. I can help! I offer a Free 1/2-hour consultation. During this, we can discuss your photo project and decide how to proceed. Or if you need some coaching on how and where to start to complete this task on your own, we can set up coaching sessions. I have started working on my scrapbooks again. I still love old fashioned printed photos and books that I put together myself. But I also think it's important to keep the digital versions safe for all 3 reasons you listed.
Dee | GrammysGrid.com wrote: Yes, gosh, don't we all have way too many pics and vids? I just looked at my iPhone. I have over 14000 pics and about 2300 vids! I previously organized them onto DVDs but lately do so using multiple external hard drives, multiple in case one of them fails I have backups. Thanks so much for linking up at the #UnlimitedLinkParty 124. I usually pin party posts but don't see your Pinterest share button.
Thank you for sharing your view and thoughts on photos. Between the husband and I, over the span of 50 odd years, we have thousand upon thousand pictures and we have at one point digitized all the paper pictures we had from years ago.

Such an important post! Those 3 reasons you listed are indeed so important ones for getting your photos organized. Once the overwhelm is gone, you can actually enjoy and access your photos, which is so strengthening and beneficial personally. I'm so glad you do what you do in helping people get there!
