The year is 1987 and this memory is from a concert. It was CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival), and any song by them sparks this memory. The concert was in Springville, UT; there is a beautiful outdoor amphitheater that is where the concert took place. This was August, so I was wearing shorts and a short-sleeved shirt, and as the sun started to go down, it started to cool off rather quickly. I had seen a vendor selling t-shirts, so I went and purchased one (it was $5). I got back to where my sisters were sitting, and a guy sitting behind me not long after asked about my shirt. I explained that I had gotten it at a booth near the front, and he went to go buy one. He got back and told me they were all out of shirts; he then asked me if he could buy mine. I just laughed and he said no, "I will give you $50 for that t-shirt." I couldn't get the shirt off fast enough when he pulled out a fifty-dollar bill.
Here are a few of my favorite songs by CCR- Have You Ever Seen the Rain? Proud Mary
Bad Moon Rising and they also did one of my all-time favorites Brown Eyed Girl
For clarity CCR was Creedence Clearwater Revisited at this time. In the above picture Marty and Dawn (my sisters) myself with the FIFTY and our good friends Emilie & Joyce Rawson (who had invited us to the concert).
Cosmo the drummer and me!
