Before printed photo albums were an option, I spent a lot of time and money scrapbooking. I have always loved taking pictures and looking back over them reminiscing about the fun times. Photo albums are a beautiful way to share your photos with the ones you love.
The pictures shown are of my grandchildren looking at their newborn photo albums.
Being able to share my love of pictures with others is one of the biggest reasons I decided to launch Deja Vu Photo Curating. Helping bring back reminders of beautiful memories is a joy for the viewer and for me. In a previous post, I wrote about the benefits of looking at photos.
Children love to look at photos of themselves. Children love hearing you tell stories about them, what they were like, and the things they said and did. Things that are part of their story they don't remember because they were too little. Photos of events and parties, help them remember all the fun things they have done.
Having photos and albums of your children helps give them a feeling of belonging and importance. There was a study done in 1975 called the Murfreesboro Study, children with access to photos of themselves had higher self-esteem. Having photos available for them to look at can aid in learning, it can also help connect family.
To me, these seem like pretty compelling reasons to have photos and photo albums of your children in your home.
